THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS CHRIST
January 21, 2017
The third temptation of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 4 vs 8-10)
Satan told Jesus he will give him what He sees if, He will worship him. Jesus replied 'get thee hence'. This is still happening today, the devil is still offering people fame, a fortune in exchange for their souls. It was Jesus' own already, God had already given it to him; He is the son of God.

 In relations to us
The devil is still deceiving people today, to sell their souls and worship him for things that are already theirs. God has provided all things for us in redemption it's ours already.
When Satan tempts you or offers you things, you tell him what Jesus said: ''Get thee hence, thou shall worship the Lord thy God and he only shall thou serve'' and he will flee from you. When you worship other Gods it is a form of adultery. A perfect example is Hosea the prophet of love, His life was compared to the love God had for Israel, it was also shown how the Israelites deserted God by following other gods and committing adultery and fornication.

God searches the reins of our hearts and he will give to every man according to his works. But to those that overcome will be given earthy and eternal gifts. some may wonder why I say earthy gifts? the bible says the kingdom of God is at hand, so God's will for us to prosper is not only in heaven but also on earth. 3 john 2 these gifts can be good (divine) health, peace of mind, material things such as money, cars, clothes, etc. God wants us to prosper in every area of our lives. Note, when you adhere to temptation, it takes away from you it does not add to you. Adam in the garden given in to temptation lost the garden and all the benefits that came with it.

This temptation is called Lust of the eyes, it has to do with riches or power. The desire to want more the bible tells us to be content with what we have Hebrew 13 vs 5 and He says He will never leave us, also knowing God is our Jehovah Jireh so he will always provide for us, cause he will never leave us and he is our provider.
